I was recommended to E by a previous mentee of his when I had expressed an interest for working in data and hearing about their journey with E prompted me to have a taster session with E. During the taster session with E, he really took his time to understand my “WHY” and in doing so we were able to map out a plan of action how I would transition from having no data experience to find a job within data. We set out achievable goals to refer to when tracking growth. The project we worked on required me to really challenge myself and learn new skills which E was there to guide me through. During our many discussion I really learned a lot from his experience as well as the perspective he brings and he really got me to look at problems from a critical perspective which has really helped me develop an inquisitive mind.

E assisted me in tailoring my CV based on the work we had done together and suggest I go to find out how the job market reacts. Sure enough I was getting some acceptance from the job market having secured some interviews. This is where E’s insights and experiences was critical, where we had practice interviews and he gave me feedback on how to really refine and promote myself. Taking this advice onboard I was able to impress interviewers and was offered the role.

I would recommend E for anyone at the start of the career journey as his support, expertise and collaboration can really make a big difference in putting yourself in the best position to get a job in data.
