The Problem
Most people know they should have multiple income streams.
The problem is they don't know where to begin.
With the rising cost of living, increasing job uncertainty, and frequent layoffs, relying on a single income has become a financial risk rather than a financial strategy.
There are countless videos, books and online courses explaining passive income ideas.
But very few help answer a much more important question:
Which passive income path is right for me?
We wanted to build something simple that could help people move from endless research to meaningful action.
Our goal was to create an AI-powered app that helps people:
Discover their ideal passive income path
Understand their passive income profile
Receive personalised recommendations
Take the first step from idea to income
What We Built
We created the AI Passive Income Path Finder—an AI app inspired by the Japanese concept of Ikigai.
Instead of recommending the same passive income ideas to everyone, the app starts by understanding the individual.
Users answer four simple questions:
What do you love?
What are you good at?
What problems would you enjoy solving?
What would people pay for?
From these answers, AI generates a personalised report that includes:
An Overall Ikigai Passive Income Score
A personalised Passive Income Profile
A detailed Passive Income Report
Useful resources to continue the journey
Rather than overwhelming users with hundreds of ideas, the app provides a starting point that's tailored specifically to them.
How We Built It
We built the AI Passive Income Path Finder using our Product Loop Framework.
Our journey looked like this:

For our first MVP, we deliberately kept the experience simple.
The entire application is built around the Ikigai questionnaire.
Once users complete the questions, an AI model analyses their responses and generates a personalised passive income profile and report within seconds.
One Challenge We Didn't Expect
One of the biggest design challenges wasn't the AI.
Balancing business goals with user experience.
We wanted the app to be:
Free to use
Simple to complete
Helpful from the first interaction
At the same time, we needed to think about future sustainability, user analytics and monetisation.
For the MVP, we made a conscious decision:
Prioritise helping users first.
We believe creating genuine value is the foundation for building a sustainable product.

The first major milestone was designing the Passive Income Path Finder Questionnaire.
We wanted to create a simple assessment that could capture enough meaningful information to generate a personalised passive income profile without overwhelming users.
The questionnaire is built around four core question sets inspired by the Ikigai framework.

By combining structured ratings with open-ended responses, the questionnaire captures both quantitative and qualitative insights.
This gives the AI a more complete understanding of each user, enabling it to generate a personalised passive income score, profile and report rather than offering generic recommendations.
Passive Income Profile
The second milestone was creating the Passive Income Profile.
We wanted to give users a simple summary of their results.
The profile has two parts.
Overall Passive Income Score
The Overall Passive Income Score measures a user's passive income potential.
The score ranges from 1 to 5.
1 indicates a low level of alignment.
5 indicates a strong level of alignment.
The score is based on the user's questionnaire responses.
It helps users understand where they are today and where they can improve.
Ikigai Passive Income Profile
The Ikigai Passive Income Profile provides a visual summary of the user's results.
It brings together the four Ikigai dimensions:
What you love
What you're good at
What problem you want to solve
What people will pay for
The profile helps users quickly see how these areas align.
Together, the score and profile give users a clear starting point for their passive income journey.
Passive Income Report
The third milestone was creating the Passive Income Report.
We wanted every user to leave with a clear action plan.
Our goal was to help people move from idea to income with practical next steps.
The report includes:
Passive Income Recommendation – A personalised passive income idea based on the user's responses.
Key Benefits – Why this passive income path is a good fit for the user.
Idea to Income Guide – Simple, practical steps to turn the idea into reality.
